La Focaccia says he’s no longer retiring

San Antonio's culinary landscape is abuzz with the unexpected return of La Focaccia Italian Grill, a cherished establishment in the King William District.

After announcing a permanent closure on January 31, 2026, owner Luigi "Domenic" Ciccarelli reversed course, declaring, "I'm not retiring."

The restaurant reopened on February 11, just in time for Valentine's Day, much to the delight of its loyal patrons.

La Focaccia has been a cornerstone of the community since 1996, offering authentic family recipes and a warm atmosphere.

Its return underscores the enduring appeal of traditional Italian cuisine in San Antonio.

Beyond La Focaccia, the city boasts a vibrant array of Italian restaurants.

For instance, Primo's, a recent addition near the St. Mary's Strip, has garnered attention for its unique dishes like the limoncello margarita, blending limoncello, tequila, and lime.

Additionally, Isidore at Pearl has elevated the dining scene by earning a Michelin star, highlighting its commitment to excellence.

These establishments, alongside La Focaccia, contribute to the rich tapestry of Italian food experiences available in San Antonio.

Whether you're a longtime resident or a visitor, the city's Italian dining options offer a delightful journey through flavors and traditions.
