Kafe Krave brings specialty coffee by day and cocktails by night to the city's urban core |
Kafe Krave has officially opened its doors at 227 Dwyer Ave #101, offering San Antonio a unique blend of specialty coffee during the day and craft cocktails by night.
Owner James Vester drew inspiration from his childhood visits to Venado, San Luis Potosí, where he cherished afternoons at a modest neighborhood café.
"It wasn't fancy, yet it maintained such a welcoming atmosphere which brought together friends, families, and couples who sought to spend quality time with each other," Vester reminisced.
Designed as a community hub rather than a mere grab-and-go spot, Kafe Krave's interior features round emerald banquettes, gold accents, and sculptural lighting, inviting guests to linger throughout the day.
To celebrate its grand opening week from January 26-30, the café is offering daily discounts, including buy-one-get-one-free coffee, $1 Americanos, and $2.50 iced lattes.
Following the opening festivities, Kafe Krave will operate seven days a week with the following hours:
Monday through Thursday: 7 am-6 pm
Friday: 7 am-6 pm and 8 pm-1 am
Saturday: 10 am-6 pm and 8 pm-1 am
Sunday: 10 am-2 pm
In other local culinary news, the ninth annual Titans of Tailgate event is set for February 1 at The Rock at La Cantera.
Hosted by Chef Jason Dady and Culinaria, this event will feature over 30 of San Antonio's top chefs competing in a high-energy grilling showdown.
Proceeds will support culinary education initiatives in local high schools.
Tickets range from $50 to $150 and include food samplings and beverages.
For more information, visit Culinaria's official website.
Additionally, Mexico Ceaty, a 21,000-square-foot Mexican-forward dining and retail destination spearheaded by Chef Jason Dady, is slated to open in April at the Shops at Rivercenter.
Described as San Antonio's answer to Eataly, it will feature a full-service Tex-Mex restaurant, grab-and-go food stalls, and a mercado selling artisan goods.
As San Antonio's culinary scene continues to thrive, establishments like Kafe Krave and upcoming events such as Titans of Tailgate and Mexico Ceaty's debut highlight the city's dynamic food culture. |
