Local ballet company extends support to furloughed workers with free access to season opener

Ballet San Antonio is extending a generous hand to federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown by offering 1,000 complimentary tickets to their upcoming production of 'Giselle.'

The company will distribute 250 free tickets per performance during the season opener, scheduled for October 17-19 at the H-E-B Performance Hall within the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

Federal employees can secure their complimentary tickets by visiting the Tobin Center's official website and entering the promo code BSA4SA. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Performance dates and times are as follows:

Friday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m.

For those interested in purchasing tickets, they are available online, by phone at (210) 223-8624, or in person at the Tobin Center Box Office located at 100 Auditorium Circle. Box Office hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

'Giselle' is a timeless ballet that delves into themes of love, betrayal, and redemption. The story follows a young peasant girl who falls in love with a nobleman in disguise, leading to a tale of heartbreak and forgiveness.

In addition to this initiative, Ballet San Antonio continues its commitment to community outreach through programs like 'Send the Kids to the Ballet.' This program provides free tickets and transportation to children from schools and community groups who might not otherwise have access to live performances.
