Highlighting movie nights san antonio and farmers market san antonio |
Mission Marquee Plaza, a cherished landmark in San Antonio, is set to host an array of engaging events throughout 2026. This historic venue, once the Mission Drive-In Theatre, has transformed into a vibrant community hub offering free, family-friendly activities.
The Outdoor Family Film Series is a highlight, featuring free movie nights under the stars. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to enjoy films on the original jumbo screen. The series runs from May through November, with movies starting shortly after dusk. Food trucks will be on-site, offering a variety of local flavors. The venue is pet-friendly, making it a perfect outing for the entire family.
In addition to movie nights, the Farmers & Artisans Market will take place every first and third Saturday from March to November, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. These markets feature fresh, locally sourced foods and handmade crafts from local vendors. Each market kicks off with a yoga or Zumba class at 9 a.m., welcoming all fitness levels. The venue is pet-friendly, and on-site parking is available.
Cultural events are also a cornerstone of Mission Marquee Plaza's offerings. The 12th Annual Viva PoesĂa: Palabras, MĂşsica y Cultura is scheduled for April 11, 2026, from 6 to 10 p.m. This event celebrates National Poetry Month with a lineup of literary and musical artists, workshops, and art activities. Later in the year, the DĂa de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones event on October 24, 2026, from 3 to 10 p.m., honors the legacy of San Antonio's historic Missions with a procession, dance, and community altars.
Mission Marquee Plaza, located at 3100 Roosevelt Ave., continues to serve as a gathering place for the community, offering a diverse range of events that celebrate San Antonio's rich culture and history. All events are free and open to the public, providing opportunities for residents and visitors to connect and create lasting memories. |
